--------------------------------------- ULTRA NEWS (Updated in real-time) --------------------------------------- ---------(11:12 AM 3/17/2010)---------- ULTRA 11 has officially been delayed again. We're now aiming for 04/15/10. We apologize for these delays but they are necessary in order for us to deliver the product of which we've been dreaming now for a decade. ULTRA 11 is running about 30 times faster than ULTRA 10 during all types of analysis and that's just one of many improvements that required an almost total rewrite of millions of lines of code. One major reason (out of many) for the delay is the new reliability standard to which we strive. We consider this standard to be "Near Military Spec". Using automated testing code we've written, we are resolving an amazing number of minor bugs most of which would only effect <0.1% of users. But if you happen to be that user, it matters. In our opinion, if other commercial products used this level of error testing, they'd probably have hundreds of these types of errors generated per hour of use. Our goal is zero. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding. ---------(11:06 AM 3/17/2010)---------- On 03/08/10 there was a hardware failure on the serverthat runs the ULTRAFS.COM website. This caused the site to be down for about 24 hours over which we had no control because, like all small business websites, a hosting company maintains this hardware. It appears that after the hardware was repaired, they restored files from a backup. Unfortunately, the ULTRA 10.32b install files they restored were files that we were debugging and not the actual release files. Those files remained on the site until 03/17/10 at 11:00am. This is exactly why we rarely do a broadcast notification when new versions are released. If a large percentage of our client base had downloaded these bad install files, it would have taken us weeks to recover and stopped all progress on other projects like ULTRA 11. ---------(10:54 AM 1/26/2010)---------- In preparation for our ULTRA 11 release. Melinda L. Brown has been hired to work at ULTRA on a full-time basis. Melinda a been assisting Steve Hunter (founder of ULTRA) for many years handling details of his non-ULTRA related business projects. She is a proven talent who will greatly improve the business end of ULTRA. She will now train to become an ULTRA expert exclusively. She will soon begin to assist clients and once she's totally up-to-speed with all the details of the business side of ULTRA, she'll hire/train a PA to assist her further improving our ability to support our software products. ---------(8:22 PM 1/26/2010)--------------- ULTRA Data upload is late because something is wrong with my main source and today's closing information is not yet available. Tired of waiting so I'll use backup sources and recheck the numbers tommorrow. ---------(11:00 AM 1/25/2010)-------------- * NEWS pages added to ULTRAFS.COM which will contain real-time ULTRA related news. * LINKS to NEWS,DATA,SCHEDULE,FAQ,BUGS added to Client Page at ULTRAFS.COM. ---------(9:38 AM 1/25/2010)---------------- Our ULTRAFS.COM site performed a restore from the 01/21/10 backup for some reason which wrote over our 01/22/10 udata.dat file. The correct version of udata.dat has now been uploaded. The ULTRATIMER.COM datadownloading site was not affected. Clients are reminded that we have redundancy in our data downloading sites to handle this exact situation that will occur from time-to-time. The site from which you download data is selectable on the window where you tell the downloader which file to download (usually udata.dat). ---------(11:50 PM 1/24/2010)------------------- ULTRA 10.32a released for download. --------------(End of File)---------------------
