ULTRA 10.32 is now Available for Download

  1. Compatible with all Windows versions including Vista 64-bit and Windows 7.

  2. Minimal functionality additions.
For our first 32-bit release, we've kept it simple. But we have many functionality improvements that are fully tested and ready for release.

  3. 100% compatible with ULTRA 10.15 and 10.16.
ULTRA 10.32 is a separate .exe file (ultra32a.exe) so your existing ULTRA (ultra10.exe) is not affected and will still run exactly as it did before installing this version.

  4. Zero learning curve.
ULTRA 10.32 operates exactly like older versions.

  5. Will NOT affect any files that you've created.
Most ULTRA configuration files are created by ULTRA if they don't exist. If the files already exist ULTRA just uses them.

  6. Why should you download it?
    * We will not be adding any new functionality to the 16-bit version (10.16).
    * New functionality for 10.32 will be released regularly and often.
    * It's very unlikely that we'll fix any bugs in ULTRA 10.16.
    * We'll be fixing 10.32 bugs as quickly as possible so that we can release new functionality.
    * Bottomline is that the first step to resolve any problem is to download and install ULTRA 10.32.

The two links below are the exact same file.
They are just located on different web servers for convenience and redundancy.
( CA= California, NY= New York ). You can select either but whichever is closer will be faster.

ufv1032b.exe (ULTRA 10.32b, ~6.3 MB from ULTRAFS.COM in CA)

ufv1032b.exe (ULTRA 10.32b, ~6.3 MB from ULTRATIMER.COM in NY)

Patch

The "Patch" contains only the files that have changed or been added since ULTRA 10.0. As long as you have any version of ULTRA 10, you can install the patch into the same folder.

upv1032b.exe (ULTRA 10.32b ~2.2 MB from ULTRAFS.COM in CA)

INSTRUCTIONS

FIRST,
It is impossible for any ULTRA installation file to contain a virus or spyware.

SECOND,
The ULTRA installation ONLY saves files in the ULTRA folder (C:\ULTRA9). Therefore, it is impossible for installing an ULTRA product to have any effect on your computer and/or other software applications.

  • Click one of the links above to start the download process (The files are small and only take a few seconds to download).

  • Internet Explorer will give you the option to "RUN or "OPEN" the file instead of actually saving it. By doing either of those, the installation program will begin automatically after the download.

  • If you save the file instead, you'll need to run it via the Windows Start button, Windows Explorer, My computer, Computer, etc, so be sure you remember where you saved the file on your computer.

  • We recommend that you install ULTRA in the default C:\ULTRA9 folder.
If you decide to install in another folder we recommend that you keep the folder name at eight or less characters to adhere to short filename standards.

  • During the download/Install you may get one or more of the following warning messages from your computer's security:

"Publisher couldn't be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" SELECT: "Run". ULTRA is the publisher and the software is fine.

    "Reinstall using recommended settings"
    "This program installed correctly"
    SELECT: "This program installed correctly".

A message asking for your permission to do something which contains two options. "ALLOW" and "CANCEL"
SELECT: "ALLOW" so that ULTRA can install.

  • An ULTRA Icon will be created on your desktop. ULTRA can be started by double-clicking on this icon.

  • ULTRA can also be started by by typing:

    c:\ultra9\ultra32.exe

into Windows' START + RUN --or-- START + SEARCH (depending on which version of Windows is running).

  • Upon starting ULTRA for the first time (I.e. new users), you will be asked to enter an Authorization Code (AC) via ULTRA's File menu item. This AC should have been supplied to you by ULTRA staff via email.

OLD VERSIONS

ULTRA 10.16 (and earlier) are 16-bit versions of ULTRA
They are NOT compatible with Windows Vista (64-bit) / Windows 7.
We will not add to, or fix any bugs in 16-bit versions of ULTRA.
The only way to resolve a problem in 10.16- is to install a new 32-bit version.

upv1032a.exe (ULTRA 10.32a Patch Version, ~2.2 MB)

ufv1032a.exe (ULTRA 10.32a Full Version, ~6.3 MB)

upv1016.exe (ULTRA 10.16 Patch Version , ~1.8 MB)

ufv1016.exe (ULTRA 10.16 Full Version, ~7.0 MB)

Backup Data Download

ULTRA clients used this method for a couple years. It works perfectly.

The file: UDATA.DAT

contains the current year of data (2010). ULTRA will automatically process this file if it is saved in the folder that contains ULTRA. After ULTRA processes the file, it is automatically deleted.

The steps below are for ULTRA 10 installed in the C:\ULTRA9 folder:

  1. Right Click HERE to Download from ULTRAFS.COM (CA).
Right Click HERE to Download from ULTRATIMER.COM (NY).

  2. Select "Save Target As" which will open a box where you can fill in the following fields:

    Filename: C:\ULTRA9\UDATA.DAT
Save as Type: (Click the down arrow and select "All Files".)

  3. Click the SAVE button.

  4. When the "Download Complete" box is displayed, click the CLOSE button. BE SURE NOT to click the OPEN button or the file will be damaged by your browser.

  5. Start ULTRA and the file will be processed automatically.

If the Data Doesn't Show up When you Select
the ULTRA Menu: DATA + VIEW DATA,

Then you made a mistake, which is almost certainly one of the cases below:

  1. This file MUST be saved in the folder containing ULTRA (C:|ULTRA9).

  2. Make sure "Save As Type" is "ALL files (*.*)" in the Save As dialog box. Otherwise Windows will append (*.txt) to the filename and ULTRA will not process it.

  3. Make sure this file is not being displayed by your browser before saving. If this happens, simply start over because the browser probably trashed the file which will cause ULTRA to fail during processing.

If the file appears to have downloaded but isn't being processed, use Windows' search to locate the files:

UDATA.*

The location of the file should tell you where the mistake was made.

Examples:

  • Windows finds UDATA.DAT in a folder other than C:\ULTRA9, then the problem is #1 above.

  • Windows finds UDATA.DAT.TXT then the problem is #2 above.
